Meet in the Middle 4 Equality, the statewide rally this Saturday, May 30th, encourages equality for all, and believes that full equality includes economic as well as social justice. An estimated 16,000 homeless people live in Fresno. While the central valley produces 8 percent of the country’s produce, thousands of its residents go to bed hungry.
Organizers are asking all attendees to bring 2 unopened canned food items. In addition dried beans, rice, and bottled water, as well as new hygiene products such as soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are being collected. Items can be dropped off at the rally in front of Fresno City Hall, starting at 1 PM on Saturday. Area residents can also drop off donations at any of the Meet in the Middle Saturday night events.
