VIDEO: Attorneys for Federal Prop 8 Case Talk to Larry King and Hardball

Wednesday, Unite the Fight reported on the federal case against Prop 8. The plaintiffs attorneys, Ted Olson and David Boies, discuss the case with CNN's Larry King.

Read a very detailed and amazing analysis of the case and interview at Pam's House Blend.

On Thursday, they made an appearance on Hardball, discussing the case in relation to other federal LGBT rights cases.

Here's an article from Mother Jones titled, "Gay Rights Groups to Ted Olson: Thanks, but No Thanks."

Why? Because they, ACLU and Lambda Legal among others, think the law suit will fail. But hey, we don't have that great of a track record when it comes to winning our rights at the court (and Olson has an amazing record wins his cases), BUT it's better than our legislative track record when it comes to marriage, and MUCH better than our ballot fights.

What do you think?

Larry King Interviews Perez Hilton About Miss California USA

I'm not really interested in reporting on this much more because, honestly, it's pretty petty. And though I don't agree with Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA, at least she's sticking by what she believes, even in the face of opposition. (This story sure gives her so much more exposure than the winner. Can you even name Miss USA 2009?)

One of our jobs, as the LGBT population, is to communicate to those who disagree with us, to show them the truth about who we are. If they still disagree, then so be it.

At least Perez offered Miss Calfornia a coffee date to talk, to which Miss California responded, "No comment!"

See Perez's vlog right after the Miss USA Pageant. He first apologized to Carrie for this rant, but just now on CNN, he told Rick Sanchez he took it back saying, "I'm Perez Hilton! I don't represent the LGBT community. I'm supposed to be controversial!"

The best embedding clip available so far of the Larry King interview afterward. You can see the whole clip on PerezHilton.com.

Mega-Church Pastors, Joel & Victoria Osteen - "I Don't Understand"

Joe & Victoria Osteen of Houston's "mega-church," Lakewood Church, appeared on Larry King Live last night. King asked them, ". . . why not make marriage a religious institution, and have the state bonding that the non-marriage state issue. So we can have two kinds of getting together."

Joe kept responding, "I don't understand."

Exactly. He doesn't understand. He doesn't take the time to actually learn that people that live in the same world as he, actually do exist outside his religious bubble and don't agree with him. They believe in something else.

"I know God's best is for a male and a female to have a marriage and raise their family," says Joe.

He knows? Really? God came down to him and told him personally? Because the God I believe in loves me as I am, because guess what? He/She/The Higher Power made me this way. So how does he reconcile this? He doesn't. He doesn't understand . . .

Wait. You know, I bet you he does understand. They BOTH understand. They understand that they are one voice in many but are trying to enforce their "sanctified" view on the government. And are losing. And refuse to acknowledge that their religion won't be hampered in anyway. Which pisses them off. Because EVERYONE should believe as they do.

"I don't know if I'm 100 percent clear on it all," says Joe.

Yeah, right. That lame excuse isn't working on me.

Meghan McCain Believes in Gay Marriage

Meghan McCain, daughter of John McCain, the Republican's nominee for last fall's presidential race, is proving to be more the maverick than her father ever was, or more than her father ever hoped to be.

Last night, the "progressive Republican" appeared on CNN's Larry King Live and proclaimed her support for gay marriage.

As I've mentioned before, and as Meghan states here, real change lies in the hands of the new generation that is now standing up and speaking out. Not that the current generation can't bring about change, but true change in the minds of the populace will occur when the young generation matures and becomes the majority. That doesn't mean we sit back and wait. The tide is turning. Let's go surf.

Judge Judy and Her Supportive Views on Same-Sex Marriage

(The video starts out funky)

Her thoughts on the voter confusion over "No" vs. "Yes" during the Prop 8 vote/campaign is interesting, given that historically, it is much harder to win a "Yes" campaign than a "No" campaign. Voting "No" usually means keeping status quo, while voting "Yes" is voting for a change. Which makes the loss of the No on 8 campaign harder to swallow (voting "No" meant keeping the THEN status quo of keeping gay marriage in California legal).

With that in mind, many argue that doing a "do-over" through a ballot initiative is a bad move because we would have to win a "Yes" campaign to change what Prop 8 did. But Judge Judy thinks otherwise.

Encouraging words from the stern judge.
