There's the Putnam family in that banner ad. I think that the Puntams have appeared in something like 5 of the TV ads, even if it was only a flash of their smiling, hopeful faces.
I think it was brilliant to keep coming back to those faces. Every voter tempted to cast a Yes vote will have to think of Sam Putnam's hopeful face when he casts that vote. Anyone with a heart couldn't do it.
We have disagreed about the efficacy of certain aspects of the No on 1 ad strategy. But whatever happens, I think the use of real families with kids in the very first ad wave was genius.
